Broadbeach Alliance Presents; Opera in the Park - 'Just a Touch of Broadway'. Saturday 4 October 2014 in Kurrawa Park from 6pm.

Bring a blanket, sit back and once again enjoy a FREE evening of incredible world-class entertainment under the stars. 

Enjoy a night filled with your favourite broadway shows including Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and Chess. 

See Donald Cant, best known as one of Australia’s ‘Phantoms’ in Phantom of the Opera. Having sung before the Queen, Donald will be performing just for you.

Enjoy the incredible talent of Amelia Farrugia, one of Australia’s favorite star sopranos, who has performed the title roles of Massenet’s Manon and Lehar’s The Merry Widow for Opera Australia. Amelia regularly performs with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra along with many more.

The evening produced by Allister McCormick with music direction from David Cameron will also feature a host of local performers including the Gold Coast Choir  and The Gold Coast Youth Orchestra.

This event is a FREE, NON-TICKETED event held in Kurrawa Park, Broadbeach, open to the public.

In 2014, it is time to play. The Gold Coast Sevens takes place on 11-12 October 2014 where the scene will be set for two days of adrenaline-filled, thrilling Rugby Sevens. The event features some of the most exciting athletes in the world mixed with Australia’s biggest fancy dress party on the sun-drenched Gold Coast.

Tickets for the festival of Rugby - one of the biggest social events on the country’s sporting calendar – are available from $50 for a single day or $90 for a two-day ticket. Public transport is in included in the cost of the ticket.

The fun-filled weekend will attract thousands of Australian fans and ex-pats from all 16 participating countries – including visitors from Fiji, England, New Zealand, Samoa, South Africans and Wales.

This year, the Gold Coast Sevens takes on added significance with the tournament being the first ever time that a HSBC World Series event has been a part of the Olympic qualification process. Competing countries on the 2014/15 World Series circuit will be vying for a top four berth that will see them automatically qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

The Blues on Broadbeach Music Festival held from 21 - 24 May 2015 is the largest FREE music festival in Australia.
