Gold Coast Superhero Weekend

Are you just a superhero in disguise? Well mark the calendar, because Gold Coast Superhero Weekend is heading to Broadbeach, April 21-23, 2017. This supercharged weekend will include the Supanova Pop Culture Expo, Gold Coast Film Festival and a ton of action packed events for the young and young at heart.

Dust off the cape, tie up your boots and pull on your cosplay for Broadbeach’s celebration of everything Supernatural and super-fun. There will be will be a mass of free activities throughout the weekend including movies in the Park, the Supanova Superhero Parade, a Star Wars Interactive Zone, Meet & Greets and plenty more for the whole family to enjoy.

The weekend will kick off on Friday with a free screening of Disney Pixar’s ‘The Incredibles’ in Victoria Park, plus a jumping castle, face painting, balloon artist and live music from 4pm.

Saturday will see comic book superheros and Jedi’s combine for an action packed day. Visit the Oasis Shopping Centre to meet your favourite Marvel superheros from 10am. Then in a galaxy far far away Victoria Park will host a free Star Wars Immersive Zone from 3pm with Jedi Training, Asteroid Field Obstacle Challenge and more! The day will finish in epic style with a special screening of animation ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ from 6pm to top off the day.

Whether you’re a masked crusader, a vigilante or perhaps from another planet, make sure you wake up early on Sunday morning and suit up for the hugely popular Supanova Superhero Parade. The enormous spectacle will literally stop traffic on Sunday April 23 from 9am, and bring together thousands of people for a celebration like no other. This is the perfect morning for families to head into Broadbeach to see ‘Supa-Star’ celebrities and characters from all genres including comic books, science fiction, fantasy and more. This year there is plenty to see including the one and only Optimus Prime from Transformers, Marvel Avengers, and many more.
