Broadbeach Christmas Carols 2018 presented by Pacific Fair
After a rained-out event in 2017, we are determined to make our 2018 the best yet with a smurfin’ sack full of entertainment planned in Kurrawa Park for Saturday 8 December.
Presented by Pacific Fair, who are providing free parking from 3pm, the Broadbeach Christmas Carols kicks off with awesome kids rides and activities followed by the only Gold Coast Christmas stage appearance from our favourite little blue friends, The Smurfs.
Singing may not be The Smurfs greatest forte, so to lead the Christmas Carols from 6pm, we are delighted to welcome back seasoned favourites of the event, Martin Crewes who will be accompanied by the incredible Danielle Everett.
Danielle Everett’s soprano capabilities and musical finesse has seen her perform in musical favourites such as Singing in the Rain and Hair in addition to taking the lead as Christine in Phantom of the Opera. She has performed with Hugh Jackman, sang in Manchester’s Commonwealth Games closing ceremony and showcased her talent at the Premier’s Christmas Carols in Sydney. After a 3-year stint in the USA, Broadbeach can’t wait to welcome her back to our beach-side concert.
Martin Crewes is heralded as one of the best Christmas Carol performers this country has. His other credits include touring around Australia and performing across the globe in shows like West Side Story, South Pacific, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Les Misérables, The Man from Snowy River Arena Spectacular, and Kym Gavin’s Helpmann Award nominated Oh! What a Night.
The Broadbeach Christmas Carols, presented by Pacific Fair, is renowned for highlighting our local talent and this year will be no exception. Musical Director David Cameron and Executive Producer Allister McCormick have arranged a phenomenal line-up for your enjoyment.
Featuring the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra, Gold Coast Choir, Signature Dance and the winners of Pacific Fair’s Sing to Win competition, it is a chance for the Gold Coast’s talented community to be seen and heard.
Hosted by 102.9 Hot Tomato’s Flan, Emily Jade & Christo, the night will be nothing short of entertaining especially if Emily Jade acts on the urge to take the microphone!
Whilst being entertained the audience is encouraged to spread their Christmas cheer by way of purchase of a candle or donation to The Salvation Army who will be supporting over 400 families in 2018 via their own Salvos ‘Christmas Cheer’ appeal.
If the night is right and the singing is loud enough, the crowds may even summon a magical appearance by Santa and his elves before a spectacular firework display lights up the night’s sky at around 7:30-8pm.
As a completely free event, the 2018 Christmas Carol event would not be possible without the support of presenting partner, Pacific Fair who will be providing free parking and hosting the Little Pacca’s zone at Kurrawa Park.
The Little Pacca’s zone hosting a range of family activities including the Base Zero Rock Climbing Wall, Giant Slide, Face Painting, and Gecko Sports obstacle courses, commences from 3pm. Whilst there, don’t forget to sign up to The Little Pacca’s club to get exclusive family deals throughout the year at Pacific Fair.
