Surf Parade set for transformation and open for business

The Surf Parade Upgrade is an exciting $4.5 million redevelopment in Broadbeach which commenced 1 August.

The City of Gold Coast is delivering a fresh, new look for this premier event and dining destination. While the new precinct is being created all businesses and restaurants are still open to foot traffic.

Features will include more greenery, road, pedestrian and festive lighting, outdoor dining areas and flexible event area.

Meanwhile, 83 per cent of people surveyed during the Business Precinct Master Plan were supportive of the upgrades and redevelopment.

The space between Queensland Avenue and Victoria Avenue will become more pedestrian-focused, with safer and more convenient connections to the rest of the precinct.

And due to these major underground infrastructure works Surf Parade is closed to all traffic. We appreciate the patience of all Broadbeach businesses and customers as the works progress. Broadbeach will be a major staging post for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™.

Finally this is a two stage project, with first stage works due for completion by December ahead of the Christmas holiday season. The second stage running from late January 2017 until May 2017.
